About Greg Katz

I love art.  I never knew that my path in life would be to become a visual storyteller.  I started my artistic career in music when I was a child, but after college found the world of textiles and never looked back.  I’ve been a quilter over 20 years, and a fiber artist for more than a decade.

My personal artist pilgrimage guided me toward the study of art and healing.  My dissertation: “Artists and Illness: Influence of Narrative on Autobiography and Meaning Making” gave me the opportunity to interview artists with chronic and life-threatening illnesses.  The one thing they all had in common and each artist verbalized this to me in the interview, “Without art I’d be dead by now”.  How powerful is that statement?

The words art and healing, for me, go hand in hand.  They permeate my physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.  I hope you’ll join me on this life-changing journey!
